The checks that matter are the figures that must agree across documents, plant and substances that need a matching assessment somewhere in the pack, controls that are missing from the document where they count, references and revisions that do not line up, and sign-offs that are absent or out of date. We work in occupied buildings. Does that change anything?
It raises the value of the daily record, because most disputes in occupied fit-out are about what was agreed, when, and what condition something was in. A record built on the floor with photographs, before the supervisor leaves, is worth considerably more than one written up later. The controls themselves, and what is agreed with the building manager, stay with your people.
