AI consultancy
AI consultancy for UK construction contractors
Aldbry is a UK AI consultancy for construction and civil engineering contractors that deliver on site. We remove the documentation, compliance and reporting admin that caps your capacity, and we build the platform that does it, so the advice and the working software come from the same place. A competent person still reviews and signs off every output.
Where the industry actually is
Most of the industry has not started
The adoption gap is the commercial argument, and it is worth being honest about how early this is.
01
Thirteen per cent
The ONS found in July 2026 that 13% of construction businesses use AI, against 58% in information and communication. RICS reported in 2026 that most construction organisations using AI are still at early pilot stage, and that embedded use is rare.
That means two things. Very little of what is sold as construction AI has run on a live site, and a contractor adopting properly now is not competing with a crowded field.
02
The load that does not move
Re-flow and YouGov found UK construction workers spend around 90 hours a year each on paperwork, at about £1,500 per employee per year. The ONS reports UK construction productivity has grown less than 0.5% a year since 1997, against 2.8% for the wider economy.
The Construction Leadership Council estimates digital tools that reduce admin could improve SME workforce efficiency by 5%, worth £2.2 billion.
What makes this different
A consultancy that also builds the software
Most firms hiring an AI consultant get a report. Most firms buying construction software get a tool and keep the workflow. We do both halves, which is why the advice is specific.
The consultancy half
We find where the hours actually go, in your documents and your workflows, and say which parts should change. Where software alone would fix your problem, we will tell you that rather than sell you a project.
- AI Opportunity Audit, a fixed fee with a roadmap you keep
- AI training, half or full-day, on site or remote
- Implementation, a fixed-fee setup with an optional retainer
- Managed AI services on a monthly retainer
The platform half
We build Corvleo, an AI platform live on UK construction sites with a small number of contractors. It produces and checks site documentation and feeds clean records into the systems you already run.
- Site Diaries, live
- RAMS Assurance, live
- Subcontractor Onboarding, live
- Inspections and Quality, Progress Reporting and Handover Packs, in development
Who we work with
Civil engineering first, and the trades around it
Typical clients run between 50 and 500 staff and deliver on site rather than manage from a distance.
Civil engineering
Temporary works, lift plans, permits to dig and multiple subcontractor RAMS per package.
Groundworks
Excavation RAMS, service strikes and HSG47, plant and people interface, diaries across plots.
Highways
Chapter 8 traffic management, NRSWA noticing and records, night works diaries.
Building contractors
Principal contractor admin, subcontractor RAMS, RFIs and handover packs.
M&E contractors
Commissioning records, test sheets, O&M manuals and asset registers.
Every sector
Water, tunnelling, fit-out and housebuilding, and how the documentation differs in each.
Site diary management
The daily record built on site, in your format, indexed against the job.
Common questions
Questions contracts managers ask first
How can construction firms use AI to cut admin?
Construction firms cut admin with AI by applying it to the documents they already produce every week, not by replacing the people who produce them. The work that responds best is repetitive and document-shaped: site diaries written from spoken notes, subcontractor packs checked for missing insurances and expired cards, RAMS cross-checked for conflicts and gaps before a competent person signs them off, and progress records assembled from what was already captured on site. Aldbry applies AI inside your existing workflows rather than asking you to move to a new platform, and a competent person reviews and signs off every output. If you want to size the problem before spending anything, the Construction Admin Cost Calculator gives you a headline figure in a couple of minutes.
What is AI for construction?
AI for construction means software that reads, drafts and checks the documentation surrounding delivery, so that skilled people spend less time typing and more time building. In practice it covers reviewing site-specific RAMS and method statements against your templates and the scope, turning dictated site notes into a structured diary, cross-checking a subcontractor pack for conflicts and gaps, and pulling progress information out of records your teams already keep. It does not design temporary works, it does not make safety judgements and it does not approve anything. Aldbry builds Corvleo, an AI platform live on UK construction sites with a small number of contractors, which produces and checks site documentation alongside the systems you already run.
How much does it cost to start?
Two things cost nothing and the first paid step is £3,500. The free RAMS pack check reviews one subcontractor pack and returns a report, and the Construction Admin Cost Calculator gives you a headline cost of your own admin in a couple of minutes. The AI Opportunity Audit is a £3,500 fixed fee, credited against implementation if you proceed within 30 days, and the roadmap is yours to keep whether or not you take it further. Beyond that, AI training is half or full-day sessions, implementation is a fixed-fee setup with an optional retainer, and managed services are a monthly retainer scoped to your workflows. See the audit for what it covers.
Who is Aldbry?
Aldbry is a UK AI consultancy for construction and civil engineering contractors that deliver on site, based at 167-169 Great Portland Street, London. The focus is civil engineering first: groundworks, highways, water, structures, piling, tunnelling, earthworks and drainage, and also building, fit-out, M&E and housebuilders. Typical clients run between 50 and 500 staff. Aldbry is built by an engineering team who have worked on major UK infrastructure schemes, and it builds Corvleo, an AI platform live on UK construction sites with a small number of contractors. You can read more about the firm.
What is the difference between an AI consultancy and construction software?
Software gives you a tool and leaves the workflow to you; a consultancy works out which parts of your workflow should change and then makes that happen. The distinction matters because most firms already own more software than they use, and the admin load persists anyway. Aldbry does both halves: the consultancy work of finding where the time actually goes, and the platform, Corvleo, that produces and checks the documents once the workflow is agreed. Corvleo feeds records into the systems you already run, including your CDE, rather than replacing them. If software alone would fix your problem, we will tell you that.
