Where every engagement starts

The AI Opportunity Audit

Before you spend anything on AI, we apply our process to find exactly where your firm is losing time and money to manual work, and where our system, with AI applied correctly, removes the most admin. A fixed-fee assessment that ends in a clear, prioritised roadmap.

What it is

An AI opportunity assessment grounded in how your sites actually run

Most firms know admin is costing them. Few know precisely where, how much, or where AI genuinely belongs in the work. The audit answers those questions with evidence, using the same process that underpins our proprietary system.

We look at how your teams really spend their time on documentation, compliance and reporting: RAMS and method statements, CDM documentation, site diaries, quality records and ITPs, subcontractor compliance, NEC4 administration, progress reporting, tenders and handover. We assess what you use now, find where hours and cost leak, and identify the handful of places our system, with AI applied at the right layer, makes the biggest difference fastest.

It is also an honest AI readiness assessment. Some processes are ready for AI now. Some need tidying first. Some should stay exactly as they are. We tell you which is which.

One known cost, agreed up front. At the end, you receive an evidenced roadmap in priority order. The roadmap is yours to keep, whether or not you take it further with us.

Who it is for

Built for mid-tier UK construction and engineering firms

The audit suits firms where the admin load is heavy, capacity is tight and the next step with AI is not yet clear.

Firms that are at capacity

You have more work than your teams can comfortably deliver, and you suspect the paperwork is a large part of why. You want to know whether a better system, with AI applied properly, is a real alternative to more headcount.

Firms where AI use is ad hoc

Some staff are trying AI tools, others are not, and there is no agreed approach. You want a clear view before it grows further on its own.

Directors who want evidence

You are open to AI but not willing to buy software or services on promises. You want to see where the time goes first.

Contractors across the sector

Civil engineering, groundworks, highways and infrastructure, building contractors and M&E firms. See our sector pages for how the documentation differs.

The process

Four stages from first conversation to clear roadmap

Our process is designed to get an accurate picture without pulling your teams away from live projects.

  1. We map your processes

We start by understanding where your teams spend time on admin, documentation and reporting. That means talking to the people who do the work, not only the directors: project managers, site managers, commercial, SHEQ, bid and office teams.

    • Which documents each team produces, and how often
    • How information moves from site to office to client
    • Where work gets done out of hours or at the last minute
  2. We assess what you use now

We review the tools, templates and systems in place today, and look at real examples of your documents and processes. The aim is to see what is manual, what is duplicated and where the hours and cost leak.

    • Information typed more than once across diaries, reports and registers
    • Templates and trackers that do not talk to each other
    • Current AI use, including informal use of consumer tools
  3. We find the opportunities

With a clear picture of where time goes, we identify the handful of places our system and AI save you the most, fastest. We weigh the potential benefit against practicality, risk and the need for competent-person review.

    • Opportunities ranked by impact and ease
    • Honest views on what AI should not be used for
    • Quick wins separated from longer-term changes
  4. You get a clear roadmap

We bring it together into an evidenced plan, in priority order, ready to act on. We walk you through it, answer questions and discuss the options, with no pressure to continue.

    • A written roadmap your leadership team can use
    • A walkthrough of findings and recommendations
    • Clear options for next steps

What you receive

Exactly what is in your roadmap

A practical document written for construction directors, not a technology report. Plain language, specific to your firm, and prioritised so you know what to do first.

Book your audit

  • A map of where admin time goesBroken down by team and by document type, so you can see which roles and which paperwork carry the heaviest load.
  • Where hours and cost leakThe manual steps, duplicated entry and disconnected systems that consume time without adding value.
  • Prioritised opportunitiesThe places our system, with AI applied correctly, would make the biggest and fastest difference, in priority order, with the reasoning behind each.
  • Practical considerationsWhat each opportunity means for your data, the risks to manage, and where human review and competent-person sign-off must sit.
  • Recommended next steps and optionsHow you could act on each priority: doing it in-house, training your team, implementation into your workflows, or a managed service.

Why start here

The smart first step with AI

AI without a system and process behind it easily becomes an expensive experiment. The audit makes sure it is not.

Evidence before spending

You see where the time and cost really are before committing to training, systems or services.

A fixed, known cost

£1,500, agreed up front. No open-ended consultancy and no surprise invoices.

Low disruption

We work around live projects and take only the time we need from your key people.

No obligation to continue

The roadmap is yours to keep. Act on it yourselves, with us, or not at all.

Clear expectations

What the audit is, and what it is not

  • Not a software sales pitchWe are not reselling a product. The roadmap recommends what fits your firm, including options that do not involve us.
  • Not a generic AI reportEvery finding comes from applying our process to your teams, your documents and your processes, written in construction language rather than technology jargon.
  • Not an IT or cyber security auditWe look at data and risk as they relate to using AI on your documentation and reporting. It does not replace a specialist review of your IT infrastructure.
  • Not a substitute for competent judgementWhere AI could help with safety-critical or contractual documents, the roadmap is explicit that competent people keep responsibility for review and sign-off.

What we need from you

Straightforward access, not a big project

The audit is only as good as the picture we get, but that does not mean heavy demands on your teams.

  • Access to key people: short conversations with a sponsor at director level and representatives of the teams that carry the admin, such as project, site, commercial, SHEQ and bid teams.
  • Real examples: typical documents and records, for example a RAMS, a site diary, a progress report, a subcontractor compliance pack or a past tender response, anonymised where you prefer.
  • A view of your tools: a walkthrough of the systems, templates and trackers your teams use today.
  • Candour: honest answers about what works, what does not, and where people currently use AI informally.

Your information stays protected. We agree how documents are shared and handled before we start, and we are happy to work to your firm's confidentiality and IT requirements.

Who is behind the audit

Our team's background is in UK civil engineering delivery, up to project-director level, on national highways, rail, viaduct and defence schemes. We have lived the compliance, CDM and reporting workload we now assess, and we pair it with experience building live AI systems. That combination is what our system and process are built on.

AI Opportunity Audit FAQs

What does the audit cost?

£1,500 as a fixed fee. The roadmap is yours to keep, whether or not you take it further with us.

Are we obliged to buy anything afterwards?

No. The roadmap sets out options, including doing things in-house. Many firms will choose to work with us on the priorities, but there is no obligation.

How much of our team's time will it take?

We keep demands on your people light, with focused conversations with key staff and a look at real examples of their documents. We agree the arrangements with you at the start so they fit around live projects.

Is this just a sales exercise for your other services?

No. The roadmap is written to be useful on its own. Where the best option is to do something in-house or leave a process as it is, we will say so.

Do we need to be using AI already?

Not at all. The audit works whether your firm has never used AI or already has staff experimenting with it. More questions are answered on our FAQ page.
